Continental Airlines is offering its pilots essentially the same contract enjoyed by Delta Air Lines pilots, with two exceptions.
Under a proposal from the airline Wednesday, Continental pilots would not get to appoint a pilot to the airline's board of directors. Delta's pilots got that right in 2008.
Also, Continental is offering to add $1 to each of the hourly pay rates set forth in certain pay tables in the Delta agreement.
The pilots union at Continental told members in a memo that it is reviewing the proposal.
Continental, based in Houston, has 4,300 pilots. Its pilot contract became amendable on Dec. 31, 2008. There is no word on when a new contract will be reached.
The Delta pilot agreement runs through 2012.
